To be completely honest, I do not visit any formal news websites that frequently. Nowadays, I get all my information and news from Facebook and Twitter.
I think Facebook.com started off as a website to connect with friends and share with them your photos and updates on life. However, now it is a major outlet for sharing news articles and videos. Whenever I am scrolling through Facebook, atleast every other post on my newsfeed is somebody sharing a link to an interesting article or news video. Everything i learn throughout my day, as far as what is going on in our world, I most likely saw it on Facebook. Just yesterday morning, a tragedy occured near our area. My roommates and I heard about it right away because we were all sitting around in our kitchen on Facebook. It was the first story on all of our Facebook newsfeeds. Facebook is just an easy way to stay connected because the posts your friends share can give you immediate access to all different types of news sources.

Twitter.com is very similiar to Facebook. I think Twitter also started off as just a place to share your everyday thoughts and opinions with your followers. But now within the past few years It has become a major outlet for news and world updates. I like that Twitter allows you to chose who you want to follow, so your timeline is all information based solely on your interests. It doesn't get clogged up with posts you have no interest in, like Facebook can sometimes be. Twitter allows me to follow all of my favorite celebrities, tv shows, news stations and even radio stations and constantly be updated on them.
